    NYC Advisory Groups

    Strengthening SU’s Presence in NYC

These three groups of volunteers work closely with Syracuse University’s New York City staff to elevate Syracuse University’s presence in the greater NYC area. These dedicated individuals help us to build a stronger philanthropic base, increase support for recruiting new students from the area, expand career networking opportunities for local alumni and recent SU grads seeking job opportunities, create new alumni events, and develop academic programs in New York City.

    Metro New York Leadership Council

The Metro New York Leadership Council is a core group of Syracuse University alumni based in New York City. Leaders in fields ranging from from business and finance to architecture and the arts, council members provide feedback and real-world perspectives on the University’s strategic priorities for the NY metro region. They serve as strong and enthusiastic ambassadors for SU through their creative ideas, financial commitment, and leadership. They are also involved in fundraising for SU’s newest NYC academic space, The Fisher Center, and assisting with mentorship, recruitment, and marketing and event support.

Generation Orange Alumni Leadership Society of New York

This is a group of young alumni who demonstrate exceptional dedication to SU by giving their time, talents, and leadership to benefit Generation Orange NYC initiatives. Members help the University in a variety of ways, including mentoring students, speaking on alumni career panels, hosting events, forging critical industry partnerships, and leveraging their unique skills and connections to enrich the SU network in New York.

    Parents Executive Committee

The Parents Executive Committee was formed to give SU parents living in New York City the opportunity to engage with SU. With more than 20 families representing each class year, the committee provides financial support, outreach to new families, and connections to jobs and internships for students and graduates in the New York metro area.
