Panelists discuss hot-button real estate issues
July 11, 2014
The Whitman Alumni Club of NYC recently hosted a standing-room-only real estate event at the Fisher Center, Syracuse University’s new academic space in the heart of Manhattan.
The panel discussion—titled Builder, Buyer, Broker—was moderated by Jimmy Kuhn ’70 (left), president of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, and featured panelists Steven W. Katz ’73, co-founder and managing member of The Sterling Properties Group, LLC; Mitchell L. Konsker ’83, vice chairman of Jones Lang LaSalle; and David Tobin ’91, principal at Mission Capital Advisors, LLC.
Attendees had the opportunity to hear the expert panel discuss such current hot topics as the question of whether there is too much capital chasing deals, and if the tech industry has surpassed finance as the region’s growth driver. Panelists were also asked if the city was on the brink of a condo bubble, and where the most value is in the city or the suburbs.
